  • 1.  SEP Scheduled Scan

    Posted Sep 30, 2009 01:22 PM
    Hello All,

I have a scheduled scan in the early hours of the morning 3:00am to be exact to be kicked off once a week.  The problem is if the user is powered off the scan does not happen.  Under the options I set it to run within the next day but I do not see where or if I can set it to only run at 3:00am.

    So 2 questions:

    1. Does the scan run if the user is logged off but not powered down?

    2. Is there a way to set SEP to run the scheduled scan the next day at 3:00am instead of immediately when the user logs on in the morning?

    Hi,

         You asked

Does the scan run if the user is logged off but not powered down?    The answer to this is Yes

Is there a way to set SEP to run the scheduled scan the next day at 3:00am instead of immediately when the user logs on in the morning?   Unfortunately the scan will resume as and when the user logs on.

You can create missed event option

scan can run if the user is logged off but not powered down for this select the option "scan  even if user is logged off "

for firing the scan at exactly same time next day :- youcan't do it the scan automatically starts as soon as the pc is powered on and the user logs on to it.

One thing you can do is try to minimize the retry interval time to minimum which may do the job for you. as the scan will try to fire within that time and if pc is still off in that time then scan will start on next scheduled day.
