Hi,

one of customer having SEP SBE on presmises license 40nos but the proeblem is 20 license is expired and 20 licenses are remainig,  and the other thing is SEP SBE on premises version has been discountinue, as of now customer needs only 20 licenses, so just wanted to know if we give SEP SBE & SEP enterprise version can work in same network, is there any option we can upgrade from SEP SBE To SEP.

* two management console can work in same env

please help me with above as it is urgent..

The Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition 12.1.x product has reached End-of-life and is set to be replaced by the Hosted (or .Cloud) version of the product.

Note: This does NOT mean the customer needs to immediately upgrade their product. Customers will be able to renew their on-premises license and continue to use their SBE SEPM’s until 2018.

& SEP enterprise edition and SEP small business edition can stay in the same network.

Upgrade from SBE to EE is also supported. Can refer this article: Supported upgrade and migration paths to Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.x

Yes you can run SEP and SBE in same network

You can upgrade from Small Business Edition to Enterprise Edition, it's a supported cross-grade upgrade.

Hi,

we have several customers with Symantec Protection Suite SBE incl. SMSMSE. Our distributor says, we could not renew this product an we mandantory have to upgrade to EE. A few license will end in the next weeks. We could not upgrade so fast.

Is that right, that we must upgrade the license and the management console to EE? Location is Germany.

No reply jet. It is probably very important for many customers and partners, if that ist really right or not:

Our distri says, it is not possible to get on-premises SBE Renewals anymore. May Symantec Support resolve this? Thanks.

As per my information it's not necessary to immediately migrate. You can go through the FAQ here:

Now i understand it:

We can buy the renewal for SEP SBS (valid for cloud-based and on-premise) and activate the new license in the existing console, BUT MUST buy separatly a license for SMSMSE. In this case the total price will increase at about 95 percent as against the Bundle Protection Suite SBS 12.1.x!!

Our customers will ask us for the benefits. And then our customers will ask us for alternative products...
