SEP unmanaged Client won't LiveUpdate
I have a couple of unmanaged SEP clients that will not LiveUpdate. LU runs, downloads the new def files, and says it installed them properly, but they aren't. I can see temp file activity in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\VirusDefs folder during the LU session, but the new definitions are not properly copied over.
Downloading the Intelligent Updater from Symantec will install the definitions however. I have followed this page:
http://service1.symantec.com/support/ent-security....
to see if the definitions were corrupted, but it still doesn't work.
The Log.LiveUpdate file reports that the number of patches is 2 and "Num Successful: 2", so according to LU, everything went fine and exited with a return code of 1800, Success.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Brian

hi,
by running Intelligent update, does the client GUI shows the update? Try running rx4def on those machine to opt out if there is any corruption. Then initiate Liveupdate. Also copy the log.liveupdate , experts may look and provide appropriate suggestions/advice.

Did anybody solve this? I am running SEP 11.0.5 on a Win 7 box in unmanaged mode (since my server is the older SCS and I can't upgrade it just yet...
When I run LiveUpdate it says all is OK but nothing changes on the SEP content or definitions. How can I find out why LU doesn't actually do what it is supposed to in an unmanaged client?
