SEP: Update a created SEP client package?

Hey guys,

Is there a way to update an SEP package that was created for installing clients? or we need to recreate a package?

You would need to create a new (updated) package. It's easier to do this than attempting to manaully replace files.

I don't see how. You would need to create a new package than just replace the current with the latest.

Either way, you still need to create via the SEPM.

You dont need to create extra package unless you need to modify the package contents. i,e Just AV/AS, Sonar, NTP,

you can export these package to point it to default group. once installation is done you can move the client to any group to take the policy. if you want to create a custom one

Hello,

Could you please specify what content within the packages are you trying to update?

Secondly, are you talking about the exported client packages or the Auto-upgrade packages?

Hello,

There is no way to update the Definitions in the Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 packages, rather than to update the package completely.

Here is what you could do, create the "Basic Content" Packages (package does not include the virus definitions)

Basic Content requires the clients to check into the manager to get the latest updates.
