    Hi

I'm having a few updating problems with SEP 11 running on XPsp3 and am hoping someone can point out the simple things I'm doing wrong.

First off, the SEP client on the SEPM server is not updating the network protection defs. I've even forced an update manually (which claimed to complete), but it does't say that it has updated. The defs listed are out of date (6/28 r1) though it both the client and SEPM claim it to be up-to-date. Another SEP client has the correct defs (7/2 r1) as shown in the SEPM download listing. What should I do to get this guy up-to-date?

The setup is supposed to be the default setup where SEPM looks to the Symantec server and the clients all look to the SEPM. The download is set to occur overnight because it takes over the machine and makes it unusable. Once everything is in place, I plan to use the suggested 4 hours. The problem is that the clients don't update until the following night, making them 1 day behind. I thought SEPM was supposed to push at least once it is done downloading. Do I have something configured incorrectly?

I have no machines that are 64 bit. Is there a way to turn those downloads off?

At present, I only have 2 machines involved, but have a total of 15 that I need to move off my unsupported system ASAP.

    Thank you!

    Hello,

    Change the SEPM Liveupdate Policy.

    Here are the Steps:

SEPM >> ADMIN >> Servers > Highlight Local site and click on "Edit Site Properties">> click on Liveupdate TAB >> Click on Change Platform >> Uncheck the Box for "Windows 64-Bit "

    Check this Screenshot:

    Hope that helps!!

    Hi

Sorry about the long gap of silence, but there has been no shortage of fires.

Mithun: Thanks for the pics, but it doesn't match what I'm seeing. Possibly my version is too old? 11.0.7101.1056. The top option on the lu tab is download schedule.

Pete: Thanks for the links. Today I got back to this and found that all 3 defs on both machines were over a week old and both clients reported happiness. Seems I've some troubleshooting to do... I manually forced an update and I think everyone is happy now. One has to visit each client to be sure.

Suggestion/Feature Request: SEPM should show the version of all types of defs of all the clients. As far as I can tell, the only thing you can see is the virus defs. A lag time is to be expected, but accuracy is very important.
