  • 1.  SEP upgrade 11.0.4000.2295 to 11.0.4014

    I setup SEPM upgrade 11.0.4000.2295 to 11.0.4014,
    check result: only 1 client in group (5pc) not upgrade.
    check client system: in the event viewer, the application log event id: 13. This error was fixed with infos in forum, but client not upgrade.

    hi lavi,
    Assuming your client is not getting live updates, have you checked the firewall and the respective ports so that the client and server are communicating?

     No he is not able to upgrade clients... Firstly are you upgrading the right clients from the right groups. Are packages created properly? Are you pushing packages after a time lag or imemediately. It could take a few minutes to upto an hour for the whole thing to happen.
    After all that the LU needs to be checked

    I had similar issues. in the end I upgraded the server and consol. I created a new group called upgrade group. I used the upgrade groups with package feature to add the 32 and 64 bit exacutibles. Under the group install package properties I set the start and end time of upgrade schedual to be the same time. I then moved 10 clients into that group. I used the run command on clients/update clients. I waited 30 minutes and refreshed. Any PCs not upgraded (4/60) I went to and ran the update policey option on the computer. I then moved the computers back to the correct group and repeated until all were done.

    And just to rant, what a total waste of my time, I feel cheated, but it worked better than anything support had to offer. They were stumped when we exported a new install package for 4014 and installed directly on the client and even though the interactive setup claimed to work the client was still running the old version and are investigating. Incredibly disaponted no discount from Symantec on my renewal after a year of this junk program causing hours and hours of wasted time and system disruption.
