    Hi

We have SEP 12.1.5 and we have also VMware four nodes cluster with different VMs running on hosts

We have installed SEP client on VMs machines

Can we installed SEP client on VMware physical hosts instead of VM machines

And I have heard that SEP can be installed on physical nodes of VMware instead of VM machine

We wnat to remove SEP on VM machines

    Thanks

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Symantec community.

Each running instance (physical and/or virtual) must have SEP protection and licensed too.

All physical and VMs need to have a SEP client installed.

Symantec Data Center Security 6.5 can give you agentless AV and IPS, but requires that you are using Vmware NSX.

SEP is still the most secure option as you won't get heurstic and zero day protection with pure signature based protection as found in SDCS.
