disable UAC before install and see if it helps.

I agree with Pete's suggestion, disable User Account Control and reboot the machine once. Then try to install the package.

Try using a package with only the Antivirus and Antispyware enabled. Then use that to install. If it still does not work. Use the SEP Support Tool, it would show you the errors and it also has Internet links on the solution. In some cases, there could be a pending restart.

Please take a backup of the registry before proceeding further.

    1. Open Regisrty Editor
    2. Browse to HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders
    3. Select the Expandable String Value 'AppData' and change the value to : %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming
    4. Close the registry editor
    5. Reboot the computer
    6. Install SEP client again

    8kwocsjc,

It appears that the installation of SEP is failing because the Windows Event Log service failed to start properly.

Can you go into Services (Start > Run > type in: services.msc > click OK) and find the Event Log service? Is it started?

Have you tried rebooting the machine and attempting the installation again?

    Regards,
