I have configured a SEP11 manager recently and now i have added some clients to test the same. On the client the antivirus and antispyware definitions are not getting updated. in the SEP manager also all the defintions are not happening.Kindly let ne know hpw to solve this issue as i am moving the SEP 11 into production.

As attacged in the screen shot with this, some of the components are getting updated but some are not...

Try doing manual live update on the SEPM box.go to start>run>luall.

Kindly observe the live update activity and check for any errors.

You can run the same test that Barkha mentioned on a client workstation and check if the client gets updated.
If it does, then the issue could be with the SEPM. And then you can check for more erros in SEPM.

However, if the client does not get updated then it could be a network/proxy/firewall issue.

On the server itself i am not able to get the virus def files updated but i am able to go to internet i mean to say network connectivity is not the problem as some of the updates are happening.but most of the updates are not happening.

could you please attach an updated screenshot of the definitions in the SEPM? I'd like to compare it with the first one you provided us.
In this way we can check if all kinds of contents are blocked or not.

Make live update run as a scheduled task once a say - that worked for us.

manually updated. but still status is same. attached screenshot for reference.

It is clear that LiveUpdate is working because something is up-to-date while the AV defs are corrupted.
Clean them:
