original message - I think it might be good to get a little more information on your system. What Symantec product are you using? and what is the version number of that product? How are you connecting to the SEPM since you are wireless (probably through VPN but if so what VPN client do you use)? Are you able to ping the SEPM and also does this client appear in the clients list on the SEPM? Most importantly you should probably post the system log so we can get a better idea of what is going on, and if it is not too much trouble please start a new thread for this issue so are not infriging on bjohns posts seeing as it is not solved yet.

Thanks
Grant

Grant , Thanks for the reply, as you suggested I started a new discussion

I'm using  Corp SEP 11.0.4202.75 (supplied by my company, I'm using it unmanaged, so therefore I don't believe SEPM is involved, sorry if I'm showing my ignorance. I do client side testing so I didn't want any locked areas in SEP.

I'm on a Dell 620 with a Wlan 1490 card. Indeed I do use a Cisco VPN client, but only when I'm accessing work Intrenet, otherwise it's off. As I said, on my Desktop I run the same setup (unmanaged, but wired) with no issue.

Again, I hate to show my stupity if I'm miussed something

What's the question anyway?

What's the question anyway?

De facto when AV does something, it starts jumping up and down, waving its arms, and shouting "Hey!  I found a virus!  Look at me!  I'm soooo goooood!"

Sandeep

Sandeep,

I am going to go on a limb and say the teefer2.sys driver is failing to properly bind to the Built-in DELL 620 Wlan 1490 wireless network adapter.

Can you confirm PWKELLY?

Problem with networking since installation of SEP

The company recently rolled out Symantec End Point . Since then my Windows XP machine is unable to connect to the internet through our lan as normal. Local resources are available, both remote desktop and browser based. In one of the client logs I notice 3 entries that specified "firewall server failed to open network adapter (Broadcom integrated 401). I wonder if this could be part of the problem.

Any clues appreciated

Thanks,
