Funny thing that you have "Dear user please use Search.", because the exact same thing that you posted is the next thread from this :D
@Jukka
Randy-P posted his message at 2:08PM compared to 01:59PM.
Btw I had also RTFM in my signature but mods removed that part ;)
Well, I meant this. https://forums.symantec.com/syment/board/message?board.id=endpoint_protection11&thread.id=25503
Don't understand why RTFM was removed :D
Well, my bad ;) I didn't saw that thread at first glance and I'm not reading everything in here as some time ago because lack of time. And I don't see an option to delete thread (even when it's created by me).
Probably The F was not right ;)
This is more of a reply to Symantec in regards to the MP that was just released.
When are you going to fix the bug with Java 6 update 10+ that results in the home page of the remote console being blank?
PWobbe...
This is probably what you are looking for:
Home, Monitors, and Reports pages are blank on the remote console after updating Java to version 1.6 Update 10.
Fix ID: 1450539
Symptom: After installing JDK or JRE 6 Update 10 from Sun, the Home, Monitors, and Reports pages are blank and will not load.
Solution: Added workaround message in Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager and Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager remote console installation page.
Source: Release notes for MR4 MP1
Not to be rude but I have seen that and the workaround is to access the limited version of the console using a WEB browser.
What I would like to know is when Symantec thinks they will have a fix for the issue instead of a workaround that reduces functionality.
To my understanding, the issue isn't really Symantecs'. It's a bug within the newer Java runtimes that Sun hasn't gotten around to fixing yet.
I know that I've been experiencing issues with the 1.6U10+ runtimes with some other products from different vendors as well.
for we auto people, RTFM means one of 3 things.
One is what you all were thinking
Another is "Read The Friendly Manual" and the third
is real:
Read The Factory Manual (Jeep, for example, published "Factory Service Manuals")

To anyone at Symantec who can help...
Is this issue going to be resolved anytime soon? We have had 3 JAVA updates and 2 Symantec updates since the problem came to light.
Should we as paying Symantec customers be expecting Sun to fix JAVA or Symantec to fix SEPM? To Whom should we as paying customers be sending mail to regarding when the fix will be available?
Or better still...
Forget Java. And all its bugs. And monthly updates. And poor performance. And having to retain multiple, antique, buggy, security-hole-laden (and, now, "static-installed") versions to suit the various Java-version-sensitive software installed on our servers.
Return to Microsoft Management Console snap-ins, which "just work" more-or-less indefinitely. MMC updates have been known to break snap-ins, but MMC is not updated very often. What has it been...4 or 5 version updates in 13 years?
And give it to us in the form of an MSI file we can advertise in Group Policy, and design it so that reboots aren't needed for installation (as they were for some reason with SAV's snap-in, but which most other snap-ins do not require) so that the SEPM snap-in can install automagically and near-instantly on any domain member computer we want to use to manage SEPM by opening an MSC file in our roaming profile that references the snap-in.
Well, I can dream, can't I?
