Endpoint Protection

I have 200 client and already manage on SEPM 12, but some client is using laptop and they always bring their laptop to home for a few days and they want the Symantec Endpoint Client is always up to date every 3 hours. I have already create 2 Group clients, one is for update to SEPM and once again is update to Symantec server when their laptops is connected to the internet at home.

My question is, How to setting up the policy update to Symantec server (not to SEPM)?

Is anyone have a suggestion?

Yes use location awareness and create two locations, one for off network and one for on network.

Than assign a liveupdate policy for the off network to get updates from Symantec LU

Yes, that is correct. Now just set a schedule of how often you want them to update while OFF network and assign to the OFF network location.

If I check this two option, the client/laptop still can update to Symantec LU when disconnect to SEPM.. but the first option is prioritized.

if I'm right, This means that as well if I choose 2nd option only "Enable Location Awarness", because client will automatically determine location when connect/disconnect to SEPM...

Correct. You need two locations and two LU policies.

When the client is on the network, it will apply the LU policy to get updates internally.

When the client is off the network, it will apply the LU policy to get updates from Symantec LiveUpdate.
