  • 1.  SEP12.1.6 installation fails and rolls back on Windows10

    Hi, I have tried installing SEP12RU6MP1 on a windows10 machine. The installation fails and rolls back. Please see attached SEP_Inst.log file.

    Try the bellow link to try and resolve the windows error 1603 issue in your logs

    It might be related to an patch installed - have a look at https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.TECH234344.html and see if this is what you're seeing?

    Also I've seen a case where the builtin Defender would not let SEP to install.. So try to disable it.

    Thanks guys, Windows patch KB3140743 was not installed on the machine. Solution, disabled Windows Defender and the installation went through.
