What version are you upgrading to?

Have you seen the best practice guides?

Best practices for upgrading to the latest version of Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.x

Not a complete log. Do a search for return value 3 in the log and post some 100 lines above and below that value

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Symantec community.

I would be glad to answer your query.

As per the logs it seems you are trying to install SEP 12.1.671.4971.105 i.e. RTM version

Are you trying to upgrade from SEP 11.x to SEP 12.1 RTM?

SEP 12.1 RU1 MP1 has the following fix, check if it's related.

Client migration from 11.0 to 12.1 fails and rolls back
    Fix ID: 2616385
Symptom: Migration from SEP 11.0 to SEP 12.1 fails and rolls back. This error occurs after multiple migrations, for example SEP 11.0 MR4-MP2 to SEP 11.0 RU6-MP2 to SEP 12.1. The MSI log contains the message "SymResolveFeatures. Return value 3."
Solution: The installer was modified to prevent a condition where an exception was generated when determining the older product version.

If possible please elaborate an issue & attach complete log file.
