SEPM 11 MR2 -> Client MR4
Updated: 22 May 2010 | 2 comments
I have a SEPM server running 11.0.2000.1567. Back in January, the Client Install Packages list suddenly included 11.0.4000.0
So, I successfully deployed the updated client out to the workstations. Since that time, MP1, MP1a, and MP2 has come out for MR4, yet none of those packages have shown up in the list. I've downloaded the client patch from symantec's site directly and updated a couple machines for testing purposes and everything seems fine on that end. I'd like to get all the clients updated to MP2, so my question is: How do I update the Client Install Packages list to include the latest client version?
Thanks much

1. Download the latest build
1. Download the latest build from Platinum or Fileconnect.
2. Select the "Add Client Install Package" on the Install Packages tab
3. Give the package a name
4. Brows to the SEP folder on CD 1
5. Click " OK"
Being at MR2
Being at MR2 (11.0.2000.1567), it is higly recommended to migrate the SEPM server to MR4, then MR4MP2. There have been many product enhancements and fixes since MR2 has been released that I think you'd benefit from.
After migrating the SEPM to MR4 (11.0.4000.2295) You can migrate the SEPM to MR4MP2 (11.0.4202.75) then migrate the clients straight up to MR4MP2. You do not need to migrate the clients twice. Keep in mind the SEPM must be migrated to MR4 prior to migrating to MR4MP2, or your databse will become damaged.
Here's the document links for the migration process:

Each migration will install the packages for the build being migrated to. So there will be no need to add them manually.
