  • 1.  SEPM 11 Unable to Process jdb files

    Posted Sep 23, 2011 12:13 PM

I have an issue that my company has not been able to resolve.  We have a Symantec Endpoint Protection 11 server.  It processes the 32 bit part of the jdb files just fine, but is having issues with the 64 bit portion of the jdb files.  I'll open up the 64 bit folder and it will look like it processed the file, but when I open the "full.zip" virscan1-9 are not all present.  It simply stops at "virscan7".  After a while the 64 bit folder will disappear since Symantec cannot fully process it.

We appreciate any help we can get at this point

    Hello,

You cannot use the same 32 bit .jdb file for 64 bit machines.

I hope you are downloading a different  jdb file for the 64 bit machines from:

    http://www.symantec.com/business/security_response/definitions/download/detail.jsp?gid=savce

Again, if you have downloaded the right .jdb file and even after the same, you are facing the issue follow this article:

    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH104721

    Hope that helps!!

"Well actually the JDB for both are same." It's going to take a while for me to let this sink in. :D

@malignx - you only need to download one. Select the appropriate download option and use that. SEPM will then distribute the definitions to the clients. Regardless of whether they're 32 or 64 bit clients.
