SEPM 11 Unexpected Error

  • 1.  SEPM 11 Unexpected Error

    I am running SEPM 11.0.4202.75 and have installed the client package on 10 computers.  All of the clients are connecting back to the server and the virus definitions are updating as I would expect.  The issue is when I open SEPM it sometimes does not show anything at all.  If I click the refresh tab a few times it will finally load the main home screen.  Under the security response section thouhg it still states "No data, possibly because no internet connection since install time."  Also under the Admin tab I have an entire list of "Unexpected server error.  Error code 0x10010000 [Site: My site] [Server: ghost]."  I am using a proxy at my location, but I've went into the server settings under the admin tab and defined the correct proxy settings, but it does not seem to have fixed anything.  Also as an interesting side note, the only way I coud get the clients to connect back to the server is to copy the sylink file from the server into the SEPM directoy on the clients and over ride the sylink file on the clients.  Is there something I did wrong here?  I even tried to do a repair install to no evail.  Any help would be appreciated.

    Since you installed fresh; go with 11.0.600X the latest version; that should fix it.

    You can install the latest manager on top of the existing one;

    client would still communicate

    BTW I have my firewall turned off on the server box and I have *.symantec.com in my allowed list for the proxy so anything going to that address is let through without authentication.

    You can download it from https://fileconnect.symantec.com by using your product serial number...

    So I upgraded to 11.06 but now none of my clients are connecting back to the management server.  They all use to have a green dot on the shields, but now when I check the connection on the clients it say server:  not connected.  Before I had to copy the sylink from the server and replace the sylink file on all the clients in order for them to get the green dot on the shield and connect to the server.  Please tell me I do not have to do that again on all my clients.  Any help would be appreciated.

    Earlier when you had SEPM installed was it on port 80 or 8014?

    You should use the same port;

    Open IIS check the port number of Symantec web server

    open any sylink file and check the port number.

    You can always use the remote sylink replacer..if the port number is different

    Follow up:

    After upgrading to the new 11.06 it resolved my "No data, possibly because no internet connection since install time."  Also all of my clients started to connect back to the server, but it took them about 45 minutes to all finally connect back up.  Everything is running smooth for now.   Thanks for all the help.
