This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hello, this is the first time I have tried to push and run a SEP client from the SEPM on a Windows 7 machine. The software is installed, but is not updating both the Antivirus
and Antispyware definitions (currently September 17th 2009 r21), Network threat protection (currently July 30th 2009 r1)  and it says it's waiting for updates for the Proactive Threat protection.

Is anyone running into this problem? I need to be able to manage clients on Windows 7 computers going forward.
Thanks for the help.
-Mike

Hi and Thanks. The windows

Hi and Thanks.

The windows firwall is turned off and it says that it is being managed by SEP.

On the support and troubleshooting tab it says Server:  Self Managed

No other clients to update.

It should not say self managed, because I deplyed it from the SEM on the server.

Maybe, uninstall and try it again?

Well..try replace the

Well..try replace the sylink.xml file

copy a Sylink.xml from any working/updating SEP client from
Program FIles\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\Sylink.xml

then on this machine

go to

Start - Run ...type
smc - stop (enter )

replace the sylink.xml of the other machine on this machine in same directory
Program FIles\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\Sylink.xml

then again go to Start - Run
smc -start (enter)

The client will have a green dot on it and it will start updating
