  • 1.  SEPM 11.0.6 Mgmt Server Conf Wizard hangs on Creating SQL Database

Installed SEPM successfully and now on to configuring with Management Server Configuration Wizard. During the SQL Database Creation stage after entering the required details such as Database name, passwords etc it hangs on "Creating Database" the status is Initializing Database and it just sits like that (status bar moves left to right - see image attachment). I have left it a number of hours and it still hangs although it says it will only take a few minutes.

There are no error messages and no events in the event viewer.

I noticed it has already created the database.

    • SEPM 11.0.6
    • MS Windows Server 2008 r2 SP1
    • SQL Server 2008
    • SQL server and SEPM on the same server

Any suggestions greatly appreciated or clues to help me resolve.

    Thanks in advance

Are you trying to install the product locally or accessing through remote?

Also try by entering the simple password for DB, do not enter any special characters .

No need to worry, I just uninstalled SEPM and deleted the SQL DB and the Symantec IIS site and began from the start again.

created embedded DB and recreated IIS site.

just have to search for unmanaged clients network wide, (only 40 workstations) to reconnect SEPS client on each one..
