  • 1.  SEPM 11RU6a Upgrade to MP1 Errors

    Posted Dec 02, 2010 02:08 PM

Hi all I've tried to recently upgrade to MP1 from RU6a  but am having a lot of problems getting this working.

Every time attempt to login via the SEPM Console get the following error

"You cannot log on to the console because the server is not synchronised with the database Upgrade the Server, and then log on to the console"

SQL is of box and everything was working with RU6a no problems but though as new udpate out should be easy to follow as had earlier upgraded from 6 to ru6a.

Attempted the upgrade but get initialising errors. and the following.

Then tried the upgrade.bat but the same error message as below occurs when attempting to install always occurs around 10%

The SQL is offbox and called Symantec_Endpoint can confirm odbc connections work to it as it allows for me to test data source and also go through the management configuration Wizard again which completes successfully.

So then took a backup of the Private Key Folder un-installed SEPM and then installed MP1 the installation completed successfully but still receive the error when logging into the console.!

    Please Help!!

Looking at the log file I do not understand why it is looking for the SEM_CLIENT?

How many other SEPMs do you have ?

You can install SEPM and point it to the SQL database.

    This was the only SEPM.

it is pointing correctly to the SQL database as I can run a odbc connection test successfully.

but SEPM Console still shows "You cannot log onto the console because the server is not synchronized with the database."

Run Management server configuration wizard once..

ran the mangement server configuration wizard which completes successfully but still unable to log back into the console.

Have given up for now with install MP1 or MP2 both of which have been failures.

Have reinstalled RU6a and have been able to log back into the console now

Now a new problem looks to be occuring Clients in SEPM are showing the green dot but when checking the clients themselves no green dot they are not even looking at the right policy location.  6000 Clients there is going to be no chance im going to run the sylink tool on each client!!!

Policies on client and on sepm match but no green dot to confirm sync between client and SEPM.

    Resolved!

Ran the Management Server Certificate merge from with SEPM > ADMIN imported the previous Private key and now the clients have started to respond!!
