    I know this was asked about the Beta version but now that the final release is out I would like to confirm it.

    If I upgrade my SEPM 11 to SEPM 12 can the SEP 11 clients continue to be managed by the SEPM 12 server until i am able to get the clients upgraded?

    Thanks for the info. that was the answer i was looking for but a new problem has appeared now.

    I have realized that i cant upgrade my current server due to some space issues.  So i am going to stand up a new server with 2008 R2 and needed to see if there is a way to migrate to the new server.

    My current 11.x install is using the built in sql database and this time around i would like to use SQL 2008 instead.

    Is there a way that i can bring up the new 12.x environment and then restore the 11.x database to the new setup.

    I know if thats possible then i can use the syslink took to repoint the clients to the new server.

    Build a new sql, install sep 12.1 on 2008;

    use the sylink tool.

    once all done ; uninstall old one.

    I have not tried that. But it should work if you restore in SQL

    Create a test environmnet and test and see if that works.

    Try that :"http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH132761
