I want to see if these are slowing my backup down (SBS server 2008). How do I stop both until I need to restart them?

You could stop the SEPM service on the box as well as stop the SEP service.

I have already started the backup and it has been going for 3 days. Please tell me how to STOP both SEPM and server A/V programs. I am hoping that will speed things up somewhat. I do not understand anything  here http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH152328 and I would have thought SEP is optimsed for backup as default due to backup being a common process on a server!

Please tell me how to actually STOP both SEPM and server A/V programs as neither seem to have controls to do this.

Thanks for your time.
