SEPM 12 temporarily stop both the server A/V and SEPM manager.

I want to see if these are slowing my backup down (SBS server 2008). How do I stop both until I need to restart them?

You could stop the SEPM service on the box as well as stop the SEP service.

may be you want to exclude the folders for the application used backup.

I have already started the backup and it has been going for 3 days. Please tell me how to STOP both SEPM and server A/V programs. I am hoping that will speed things up somewhat. I do not understand anything  here and I would have thought SEP is optimsed for backup as default due to backup being a common process on a server!

Please tell me how to actually STOP both SEPM and server A/V programs as neither seem to have controls to do this.

Thanks for your time.
