SEPM 12.1 License Question & General Upgrade Observations?
Hi, we are looking to upgrade from 11.x > 12.1.
when ti comes to the license, can yu tell me if this is the same type of license as 11.5? I have read that the licnese must cover the amount of managed clients (which it rightly should).
is there now some kind of licesning service that now keeps check of the clients or is it the same mechanism as 11.5 (i.e add license) - just trying tio see if we need to script some kind of purge activity for old clients that still show up in the databsse.
Lastely, any tips or experience from people here who have upgraded? I have read the KB article, but be good to see if anyone else at an enterpirse hit any unexpected problems or fine it straight forward?

As long as you're using the the Enterprise edition, SEP12.1 will not stop you from getting updates, even if you're overdeployed. This blocking of defs only happens on the small business edition.
With the Enterprise Edition, when over deployed you will get nagged frequently to sort your licenses out, and your SEP clients will be blocked from uploading reputation information to Insight, but that's about it.
