    Hi all,

Scenario: Unable to log in in SEPM server after repair install.

I need to know how to restore the MS SQL DB after repairing the SEPM.

    SEPM version: 12.1

    SQL: MS SQL.

Is SEPM DB Backup and restore will run on MS SQL?

    Thanks and Regards,

    N

Question rises, did u had a SEPM Back up of Embedded Database or SQL, if SQL then use the link below for your reference

Thanks for the quick response. I'll try to use SEPM DB restore using the DB backup in data\backup\

I request to run a backup on MS SQL sever, and i also have a backup on data\backup\ . Question, is the backup from c:\program files\symantec\symantec endpoint protection manager\data\backup\ is the same with MS SQL? will it over write the MS SQL DB of SEPM if i run the SEPM DB Restore?

if you run the back from SEPM console. it will get stored in c:\program files\symantec\symantec endpoint protection manager\data\backup\

if your DB is in SQL you will have by name SEM5.db.

restrore the DB and then run the management server configuration wizard to sync.

Dont get Confused. You are using a SQL or Embedded Database? Simple query.

Please answer it. Also answer How did u backed up you DB, either from Start\All Programs\SEPM\Database Backup and restore   or  From SQL Console ( Instance Backup)?

I'm using MS SQL. The backup was run by SEPM (the default backup configuration of SEPM and the db stored in data\backup\) Now my question is, is it OK that i will use the SEPM Database Backup and restore and use the db backup in data\backup\ although i'm using MS SQL?
