  • 1.  SEPM 12.1 RU2 is updating all definitions but Virus and Spyware WIN32 12.1 RU2

    Hi,

     

    I have sepm 12.1 ru2 that connected to LU Administrator(2.3.2.99) and I noticed that it can't find "New updates"  for Virus and Spyware definitions win32 12.1 RU2 in sepm every time I try to download LiveUpdate contect.

    Only via JDB I can update the Virus and Spyware definitions  win32 12.1 RU2 successfully.

    I've tied to install and uninstall both LU in the sepm server and LUA, i've tried to clean all definitions with LuCatalog.exe -cleanup and then

    LuCatalog.exe -forcedupdate,

    I tried this http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH166923 but it still doesn't work...

    What can be my problem??

    IN LUA have you selected the SEP 12.1 Ru 2 client definition to be downloaded?

    Of course, it is downloading and updating the 64 12.1 ru2 definitions perfectly...

    isn't it should be lucatlog.exe -update?

    once you cleared all the defs it should update fine. Are you using default DB or SQL db?

    In sep12.1 ru2 its -forcedupdate, and I'm using SQL DB

    Can you confirm that the SEPM 12.1 RU2 definitions are being distributed on LUA to the production distribution center after the download and that the definition files can be found in the clu-prod folder?

    If this is confirmed next thing to check would be the SEPM LU logs (log.liveupdate) after it is fnished the LU session - if there are any problem downloading those definitions from distribution center - errors should be found here.

    Hi Anna-sap,

    The problem is most likely either that the LUA server did not successfully download those definitions, or that the SEPM can successfully downlaod them but is running into problems processing them. 

    As SebastianZ says, the log.liveupdarte from teh SEPM will tell a lot.

    Also check the Event Logs on the LUA 2.x server: if that has had any download failures, there will be corresponding entries.
