After we upgraded the SEPM to 12.1 RU4 our remote installation for clients fails. Verified authentication and all settings per the articles are correct. Any other suggestions?

You can upgrade client using autoupgrade feature ..

Prepare Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, or Windows 7 computers: Windows User Access Control blocks local administrative accounts from remotely accessing remote administrative shares such as C$ and Admin$. You do not need to fully disable User Account Control on the client computers during the remote deployment if you disable the registry key LocalAccountTokenFilterPolicy. For more information, see the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/951016

If the Windows client computer is part of an Active Directory domain, you should use domain administrator account credentials for Remote Push.

In addition, perform the following tasks:

    • Disable the Windows Firewall, or configure the firewall to allow the required traffic.
    • Disable the Sharing Wizard.
    • Enable network discovery by using the Network and Sharing Center.
    • Enable the built-in administrator account and assign a password to the account.
    • Verify that the account has administrator privileges.
    • Disable or remove Windows Defender

We have followed the doucments for remote push and can log in with the credentials.

Error message "Login to "pc namehere" failed. The client could not be instaleld on the remote computer.  Prior to the upgrade to RU4 this option worked. We are in an domain environement.

are you able to access the admin share of that machine from SEPM

using the ID and password ( I hope this is a domain admin account ) and can access admin shares.

Are you using migration and deployment wizard or clientremote.exe to push the package?

This error message indicate the password is wrong.

May be the client where you deploy the package is not getting the policy from AD. So authetication error come.

    rejoin client and try.

    Try local admin id password
