    Hi:

How do I get the new SEPM 12.1.4 to stop filling up my hard drive?  I need to know how to clean it our and prevent it from happening again.  I went to this version because of the security issue that came up but now I have a much worse problem.  Is there a thread on a fix for this?

How many content revision you have stored?

what folder is consuming the space?

    check these two

Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) database transaction log (sem5.log) consumes excessive hard drive space in SEP SBE 12.1 RU1

Check the folder which is taking up space. How big is the current drive?

Hi folks.  Was away today. I see many suggestions.  However, I don't see one that hits on the obvious.  This happened right after I went to 12.1.4 for the security fix that Symantec announced.  Isn't there someone else out there that saw this happen just by going to that update?  Is there a thread on that.  It seems to me that my problem is directly related to a bug in the update.

If u set the polices on you SEPM that client will store the more then 5-6 virus definition revisions then it will consume the more space.

So pl first check that which folder is consuming more space and also check the policies on your SEPM console.

I am out of the office until Fri morning.  This is a Server 2008 machine.  I suspect that this is either a log issue or a definition pile up issue.  On that platform, what are the major folders to look for?  If you get me close to the right place, I am sure I can poke around and find the folder with multi-gigs in it.

    Hi,

Do you have SEP client installed on your SEPM server? Also, how many database backup you retain in your Database Settings??>You can minimize it to only one database backup retention..

    Regards,

    JM

Yes, I do have the client on the server.

I will check on the database backups.

The thing is, I did not make any settings changes when I went to the upgrade.

I wonder if the upgrade was pre-set with different settings?

Upgrades usually migrate all of the current settings and I was not having problems before.

Hi folks.  Under Program Files --> Symantec --> Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager, I have the following large folders:

    data 17.5 GB

    db 11.5 GB

    Inetpub 25.6 GB

Everything else looks pretty small.  Am I looking in the right place?  Does any of those seem too big?  If so, what can I delete?  I cannot currently get logged into SEPM since my disk is full and won't let the program open.

Inetpub is too big so even Data ( You might be having backups stored there)

Have you cleared the defs inside content folder and made the number of revision to 3?

Right now I cannot even log into SEPM to look at anything.  I need to get some space so it will start.  Any ideas?

I cleared the defs in the content folder and it got me 20GB.  I am not rebooting the server to make sure all services come up.  I will then go in and try to look at settings.  Will be back to you.

I have some space now and SEPM is up and running.  I went in using that article and adjusted my settings (it was keeping 10 sets of defs).

How do I go in an purge logs that are already in there from the past?
