SEPM 12.1.4 manual virus definition update from JDB file doesn't work

  • 1.  SEPM 12.1.4 manual virus definition update from JDB file doesn't work

    Posted Jun 26, 2014 05:31 AM

I have two SEP servers newly (not customized yet) installed with embedded databases and replicated on Windows 2012 R2 Standard servers.

No internet connection for both SEP servers. No LUA server.

I downloaded jdb file yesterday "vd41b202.jdb". I uploaded it to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\data\inbox\content\incoming" folder.

I'm waiting for some action in the folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\Inetpub\content", but nothing happend at all.

I see I have still old definitions information on SEPM console.

    Any idea?

Why do I have to uninstall or reinstall LiveUpdate if  SEP servers are just installed? They are completely new without any changes...

Be sure to copy and paste the .jdb file to this location. Copying the .jdb file allows the file to inherit the correct permissions from the enclosing folder. If you cut and paste (or move) the .jdb file into this location, the file may fail to process correctly

Yes I did...That Why I'm asking for help, because there is no SEPM content for 32 or 64-bit definitions in mentioned folder above...

The is just "ContentInfo.txt" file and there is nothing in...

I have 87GB free space on C drive...

Now I have updated definitions on SEPM 1 and SEP clients connected on this SEPM 1.

Is it possile to update definitions on SEPM 2 from SEPM 1?

Or do I have to manually upload JDB files to SEPM 2 too?

    Thanks for answer...

You need to create replication both SEPM.

Or do I have to manually upload JDB files to SEPM 2 too?

If replication not possible you can update manually.

    Thanks...I have database replication scheduled.

Just what I need to setup replication frequency, because I don't want to have old information status on SEPM 2 console.
