Thank you, just wnated know, how much helpfull for client end on defintion and what will be size on client, now we can see it is around 700MB of defintion folder size. we will this also be reduced.

The content compression is in relation to the SEPM. Client content will remain unchanged.

Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 Release Update 5 is now available.

On September 18, 2014, Symantec released Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 Release Update 5 (12.1.5). You can download this version from Symantec FileConnect.

Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.5 includes a number of new features, including:

• Bandwidth throttling to control client/server communication traffic

• Content storage optimization that greatly reduces disk space used by Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager. It's applicable only for SEPM not for clients.

• Symantec Endpoint Protection for Linux, which allows Linux clients to be managed through the Endpoint Protection Manager

If content converts from full to delta then there might be changes to client side in defintion folder guess, can you please confirm what is size of updated defintion on client side.

Hi,

Logic is correct but this change is applicable on SEPM only to store content revision. By default SEPM provides delta updates but If SEPM doesn't have a copy of requested definitions it would download full.zip & will give it to the client. To avoid this situation can increase the number content revision to keep on the SEPM itself. I hope it helps.

May I know what is size of defintion when its pull full defintion on client in the traffic, please share me also article if have. is there dieffrent for version to version ?

That varies, there is nothing specific. Could be a delta or a full depending on how out or up to date your clients currently are.
