  • 1.  sepm 12.x on exchange servers and terminal servers??

Could someone please post links to documentation on these topics??

I'm planning a SEP 12.x upgrade tomorrow...I assume not a lot will have changed.

Is it still standard practice not to turn on Outlook Protection within Citrix/XenApp servers within a Terminal Services / Remote Desktop environment??

    Thank you, Tom

I couldn't find much. Maybe something to come in the future...

You can check this thread for Terminal Server:

Buit if you still have the best practice guide for 11.x, that may still apply.

I would say test the Outlook piece of it. Do you use something like SAV for Exchange? if so, turning on the Outlook module is redundant and not really needed.

    Hi Tom,

I recommend against installing the SEPM on the Exchange server unless there is no other server available.  Exchange operates best with a lot of dedicated resources: having another major application (SEPM) that needs disk storage, CPU, RAM, network ports, etc on the same box means that they will have to compete for what's availble.   In smaller organizations that just have one SBS, this generally works out OK.  In larger networks, though, try to maintain a dedicated Exchange server.

    Hope this helps!
