SEPM alerts if GUP is unreachable

Created: 05 Feb 2013 • Updated: 05 Feb 2013 | 6 comments
This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hi. We're planning to put our regional GUP's for SEP onto designated client PC's in each office, as we don't have local servers for it to go onto

My question is, can we set up an email alert that triggers if a GUP is unreachable for say, 72 hours? That would prompt our helpdesk to go and make sure the GUP is powered on to do some basic troubleshooting on it?

Thanks

This is not currently possible to setup alerts within SEPM to monitor GUPs.

You need to use the GUP Monitor to check status of your GUPs. Download it here:

GUP is also a client,

why dont you create a report for them? if they go / are offline

Keep in mind the GUP monitor will give you an almost a real-time view of your GUPs (you can set a refresh period)

Hi,

I think you can try to achieve this task with other way.

Create a schedule report.

Select Report Type: Computer Status

Select a report : Client Online Status

Under advance settings: Enter computer name & IP address

You should receive daily report about machine status.
