  • 1.  SEPM behind NAT device

    Posted Mar 27, 2010 04:41 PM

I have configured SEPM server to manage remote clients over internet connection http://service1.symantec.com/support/ent-security.nsf/854fa02b4f5013678825731a007d06af/40542f09324e61fdca257582007472c5?OpenDocument

my question is is there minimum bandwidth required for each server to client communication ?
coz the client to server communication is not stable and how can i test that it is problem in client network or in SEPM server network?

    Best Regards

client always initiate the connection, the information that it passes on to SEPM will not be high logs/file , however when it tries to download definition ( mainly full) then it might have badnwidth issue.

There is no document which says the ballpark figure for the bandwidth. You might need to set as GUP in the LAN (as that of clients) for definition download atleast, this might bring down the utilization on SEPM.

How do you mean not stable?
I am able to help you troubleshoot this issue - as I'm running a large hosted SEPM (13,000+ Endpoints), connecting over WAN/Internet.

If you are not getting the green-dot on your Endpoint clients, you will need to start with the Sylink Monitor, to start troubleshooting the different scenario's as to why they cannot connect.

It could be a number of issues, relating to proxy authentication, isa firewalling, or IIS load.
