  • 1.  SEPM can't send emails using SSL option enabled

    Posted Apr 20, 2016 04:51 AM

    Hi all

I'm unable to force SEPM (12.1 RU6 MP4) to use SSL for email communication.
Searching the Forum, I've found this thread but no solution.

In short, if "Require the server to use a secure connection (SSL)" is enabled no emails are sent. Any port I choose 25/465/587, result is the same. "Send Test Email" produces below error message (server/user name are not real, of course) Mail server is configured correctly (Outlook and Thunderbird clients use TLS/SSL), and this is SMTP log excerpt from email server, for test email.

    Wed 2016-04-20 10:23:10.4 04: SMTP session terminated (Bytes in/out: 149/1561)

With "Require the server to use a secure connection (SSL)" disabled, port 25, everything works OK.

    Anyone has any suggestions?

Can you see if there are any error messages in the scm-server-0.log file at the time this fails?

    Hi Brian

I've retried the test few minutes ago (18:23 local time) and attached you can see that minute from the mentioned log.

Do you see anything that points to the problem, because I can't.

    It is working with GMail.
Obviously, I'll have to check my email server next.

    Thanks Praveen.
