SEPM CLIENT UPDATES

Created: 15 Aug 2008 • Updated: 21 May 2010 | 1 comment

I am getting this message after I try an Update Content from the SEPM Clients menu: ERROR

Some of the selected clients have not yet connected to the server. You cannot do those actions on those clients until they have connect to the server.

I have already looked on the forum for answers but none apply so far. I have SEP 11.0.2000.1567 running on a Windows 2003 Std Server Edition SP2. The complete install went fine on the server. I created a client install package. I can install a client successfully from the either the SEPM console, the network SEP client install package and/or from the Migrate and Deployment Wizard. I have tried all three with no problems unto a client. However I get the same above message with all three install versions. I have uninstalled each version and then reinstalled each version muliple times with no success.

I called Symantecs Tech Support but I have not received a call back in three days. I have been working on this on and off for 3 weeks now. Does anyone have other suggestions what I might be missing or doing wrong?

do you have your SEPM linked to Active Directory, or have you migrated from SAV using the wizards at any point?

Or, do you have clients in your console that haven't been installed or contacted the SEPM yet?
