SEPM Computer Count Confusion

We are running SEP 11 RU 7 and noticed that we have some groups which show a different count for computers compared to when we run a report or computer status log for the same particular group.

As an example let say I have a group called "My Company\Site\BB" and the details tab on that client group shows 944 computers. If I run a report or a computer status log for that group it comes back at like 882 computers. I've made sure the time is set to past year instead of 24 hours which is the default and of course results in even fewer systems.

If I go to the clients section of SEPM and view the clients listed for group named "BB" I can copy and paste into excel. When I do this I end up with 944 computers which matches the details tab. I would think that the reports and logs would reflect the same.

We've run into the same

We've run into the same problem and unfortunately had to rely on external SQL queries to get true counts. I've never fully understood how the different methods they use to generate the info work (or don't) but our experience has been the same as yours - the results are not consistent or reliable. Tech support was usless so we wound up writing a bunch of scripts to do it. When you mix in v12 clients it gets much much worse. If you're dealing with a small number of clients it seems to work but after a few thousand forget it. Wish I had a better answer.
