I have the scenario

1 DMZ server installed the SEPM console for update definitation for clients

1 internal server install the Symantec Mail gateway 7.0 on the Exchange 2013 server

I want to update the Symantec mail Gateway 7.0 definition, do I need to install the LiveUpdate Administrator (LUA) on the DMZ server?

Or can I use the SEPM console to update the definition for the Symantec Mail Gateway 7.0? If so how to configure it.

I try to install the LUA in the SEPM console, it say it is not a best practise? But do i do it, if no other solution.

Definitely not supported to install LUA on same box as SEPM.

SMG should go out to the Internet and grab its updates. SEPM can only update SEP clients.

SMG cannot go out to the internet,  so that what can I do?

install LUA on another server to which SMG can have an access.

I check the web you recommand, but the ps is only for 2008 not for 2012.

Does it any updated on it.

And also any step by step for share defination on the SEP and SEMSE

First you cannot have LUadmin and SEPM on same server

LiveUpdate Administrator 2.x and Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager on the same computer

You can use intetlligent updater but that has to be done manually or script it

with version 12.1 the definition cannot be shared.

then any suggestion to it, does it must use another machines to update

also anyone know why LUA and SEPM doen;t install on the same computer
