  • 1.  SEPM Console with jre6u13?

Has anyone been brave enough to give the latest Java Update a try to see if it actually works with the SEPM Console?  I'm going out on a limb and saying "I doubt it".

Ironically, we were just discussing in our department today how much we wish more things were written for Java... </sarcasm>

I get the "The Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager cannot display some parts of the management console because your computer runs one or more incompatible Java Runtime Environment (JRE) versions." error with MR4MP1 and JRE6u13.  You'll still need to use the workaround at https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/sepm-fails-load-or-install-java-6-update-10-amp-11  for now.

Parts of SEPM seem to simply be Internet Explorer pages.  Sun may have closed a security bug that Symantec was relying on to display html :)
