    Hi Friends,

    I am facing the issue of SEPM date updatation. My SEP Manager version is 16 feb, When i am trying to get live updates manually its showing failed. reffer snap shot.
    Even many clients are also not taking automatically updates from my managment server they are stable on 16-feb, need to run manually update.
    please give me solution ASAP.

    Hi Rafeeq,

    Have you seen its showing error 4, and when i am running "luall" with managment server client pack its showing like that:-

    error 4 and LU1814 is when its not able to connect to internet, firewall or proxy might be blocking


    Do you use proxy?

    did u set the proxy in SEPM?
    under admin -serves tab?

    I can access internet and proxy is set in browser. There is no problem to connect with internet. And i edited SEPM server property and set proxy settings and now i can see threatcon meter also. So now internet connection is not problem. So why its happning.

    Yes same has been done..
    I can see Threatcon meter and it comes on first time.. so i think proxy is working fine..
    about you send me link to download livetri.zip that i download on my managment server.  and i can see all files. Now still facing same problem updates are not coming...

    try uninstall and re-install of liveudpate.

    Click Start, then Run.
    Type cmd, then click OK. This will bring up a command prompt.
    At the command prompt type cd and the path to lucatalog.exe. By default the command would be:

    cd C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\bin
    Type lucatalog.exe -cleanup
    Wait for the process to complete.
    Then type lucatalog.exe -update

    Restart SEPM.
    Run liveupdate once again..

    Hi guys..
    Thanks for your cooperation now the date is changed and its showing current date 03-04-2010. but i am not sure it will take automatically updates?
    and client will take automaticaly updates??
    have no idea what were the solution i just follow Rafeeq, and after by the power outage my server was restarted and now after few minutes i checked date was changed..

    Arvind i tried to ununstall Live Update but live update is not going to be uninstall cus it was in use silently.

    If it will take automatically updates and send to client then i will close this thread otherwise i need your coopration to solve it..

    Hi Arvind,

    Its not done..
    I saw status of live update its trying to do but continuesly failed.
    Pls guide me...
    I tried your steps also and i uninstall and install new live update also, but  the problem is still same.. no change.

    Checked.. and search S32LUHL1.dll but this file is not available. Even i observed that many client PC's are not taking updates after 16/feb.
    and just here i saw my server took updates and now throwing in network. and which PC took updates they are not taking automaticaly.
    Manager latest date is now showing 03/05/10.

    Hello Jack,

    Kindly check the SesmLu.log file which is located under

    C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\Tomcat\Logs folder.

    Search for sesmVirDef32 and check couples of lines above an below it. You should find some errors in it. Kindly copy and paste the same. I will check and let you know what exactly is causing the problem.

    Forgive my little english,
    we have ISA firewall and had  the some problem installing SEPM (like older SAV and SMSMS) on every other client/server until last week when I discovery the following  thread:

    apparently SEPM  don't support integrated autentication (NTLM) and a rule to allow comunication will be made on ISA (or basic autentication enabled).
    In order to make rules you can refer to:

    http://www.isaserver.org/tutorials/Allowing_Norton_AntiVirus_software_LiveUpdate_through_ISA_Server.html

    Apparently  suffers from the same limitations SMSMS (fortunately it always acquired definitions from the SEP client in our case), the older SAV (we not tested at time) and other Symantec program. I'm surprised there is no KB/guidelines on Symantec site or manuals, at least i can't find it easily like it should be.

    hi to all of you..

    Dear i used many RnD on this server.. now finally i got answere by uninstalling sepm Live update. And install it once again after restarting server.
    now the problem has been resolve.
