For SEP Enterprise, it will continue to get updates.
For SBE, it will not be able to get definitions.

Hi Brian,
Ok. Our client mentioned that their license was expired last February and the renewed the license, but as of now the new slf file was not yet uploaded. May I ask, what are the possible cause of failure to get update of SEPM?
Did they receive the new slf file? If not, they should contact the licensing team.

They taught that the renewing of license in SEPM was automatic, thats why they did not check their license in licensing portal.
They should contact or open a case with licensing to get this resolved

Ok. Thanks. I'll give you an update. :D
Hi,
SEP 11.x licensing is basically just a "paper" license product. However, with SEP 12.1 the licensing is a "software" license product and uses a license file. It is important to become familiar with this license concept
Types of enforcement
When the license goes out of compliance the Symantec Endpoint Protection product goes into enforcement mode. There are two types of enforcement
1) Hard Enforcement: SEP 12.1 Small Business Edition
2) Soft Enforcement: SEP 12.1 Enterprise Edition

Hello,
Do not worry about the updates and definitions. Since you are running the SEP 12.1 Enterprise Edition, all the clients would keep receiving definitions and updates without any issues.
