    Hi

just noticed that y SEPM server stopped receiving updates from past week, there is no error mentioned anywhere.

When logged into the console -> Admin - Servers - i see error "Unexpected Server error. [Site: xxxxxx][server:"Servername"]

when launch the updates manually it shows up the download window and stuck there for ages. upon checking windows application log found this error there "Failed to launch executable program, token name: LiveUpdate_0, reason: verify request counter unsuccessfully."

    All,

SEP version: 12.1.5 on server 2003 with SQL database

the live update on the server didn't kick off for more than a week due to some reason. upon retrying for couple of times the update went through after server restart. however i still have client communication error 503 (all clients). checked the communication port 8014 was open and able to telnet on the server too with this port.

As this was affecting the full scope of this server i logged a case with Symantec on priority. The agent checked all the things as i did ( disk space which was more than enough, communication ports).

support too couldn't find any logical conclusionn for the issue, so they helped backed up and do a repair to the installation. This fixed the issue somehow.

Am not sure whats with 12.1.5 there are frequent break up of application and everytime we have to do a repair of installation.

Thanks for the update. Probably after repair missing files got copied to the original location, If required next time run SymantecHelp tool to find out suspicious cause.

Symantec Help (SymHelp) is a multi-product diagnostic utility designed for identifying common issues, gathering data for support assisted troubleshooting and providing links to other customer self-help and support resources.  SymHelp also provides licensing and maintainance status for some Symantec products as well as a utility, the Threat Analysis Scan, which can aid in the discovery of potential malware.

I did ran the SYMHelp tool initially when i was troubleshooting, it also showed Server communication error.

    "servername" port 8014 - 503 error

"localhost" port 8014 - as good.

Odd thing, now that i look back at the hurry burry situation yesterday, the agent never looked for any logs and wanted me to run a repair, which i think is quite odd. Anyway its fixed for now, all that i wanted.
