    Posted Aug 06, 2016 04:49 PM

I had SEPM 12.1.4 on the SEPM computer.  I now have SEPM12.1.6 ready to install.

But I cannot get a password reset on my 12.1.4 version to fly.  I must have an error in the eMail password recorvery record.  And no, I do not know who would have changed the password except to say that we know that SEPM demands a password change at 60 days.  I've not touched this since 4-5 months back.

So, my question is this:  Before I continue, if I go through and just uninstall the 12.1.4 completely, and install the new version, am I still going to have the password reset issue?  How can I get a "clean install" of 12.1.6?  Is there a database I have to delete or move out of the way?  Are there registry values that need to be modified.

    Really stuck on this one....

OK this is resolved.  The problem stems from not reading the error message carefully and correctly.

The password was right!  But the required Symantec Service was stopped.  Started.  Set to Auto.

    All is well.

Thanks to excellent Tech Support at Symantec.  Truly amazing.  Took all of 2 minutes.
