    Hi,

    I am planning to migrate SEPM 12 from Win2003 to Win2008 R2.

I have read the document for migration.

Since same hostname / IP will be used, do I need to stop SEPM service before backup DB ?

    Thanks

For SEPM installation on new server, do I need to change IP / hostname first ?

Or I can install it first, then change IP / hostname / restore SEPM DB / recovery file ?

    Thanks

After backup you need to remove server for network.

If you require the same ip and hostname then you can follow the disaster recovery process.

Best recomedation is that you can install the new server with different ip address and follow the replication process.

Follow TECH199292 - that's what I did and had a very good & successful migration.

    Good luck!
