1.) Delete .jdb file from \Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\data\inbox\content\incoming folder

2.) Check for running instances of LiveUpdate.

    - Kill them

3.) Retry to drop .jdb file

Clearing the cache of the virusdef

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\SymcData\

    Delete these folders:
    sesmvirdef32
    sesmvirdef64

In the registry, under this path:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Symantec\InstalledApps

    Delete these key/values:
    SymcData-sesmvirdef32
    SymcData-sesmvirdef64

    Delete these reg keys
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Symantec\SharedDefs\SymcData-sesmvirdef32
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Symantec\SharedDefs\SymcData-sesmvirdef64

Try the procedure below. Hope this helps

    Changed the timed-out value:

    PREFERENCES\INTERNET_CONNECT_TIMEOUT=100
    PREFERENCES\INTERNET_READ_DATA_TIMEOUT=100

    Run Liveupdate

Please call  in case the scheduled liveupdate fails.

Note: Please ensure that .jdb(manual update) file will be used in case the problem persist.

    Thanks,
