This issue has been solved. See solution.

When I went to log into SEPM this morning, I was presented with a warning from the JRE that the code signing cerficiate had expired. Before I upgrade SEPM to MR4 MP2, can nayone confirm that it has a newer code-signing certificate?

Thanks,

Ray

Sorry, I don't understand

The code was signed with a certificate that is now expired. Symantec needs to distribute code signed with a new certificate. I was inquiring if MR4 MP2 was signed with the old certificate or with a newer one.

Ray, I have the same problem

Ray,

I have the same problem and questions as you. My colleague has installed SEP MR4 MP2 (11.0.4202.75) and he checked and says the certificate on it expires 2/27/2019 - almost 10 years out.
He followed these upgrade instructions: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ent-security.nsf/docid/2009051906042048

Hope this helps.

Well, I can tell you that I'm

Well, I can tell you that I'm using MR MP2 and I 'm not getting any certificate expiration messages. So I'm pretty sure that it's fixed.

That's good to hear

Thanks for your replies. I have had issues with other vendors using expired certs because they weren't paying attention. It's good to hear that is not happening here. We'll probably wait until RU5 shakes out before upgrading.

JAR certificates updated in RU5

Hi, 'certificates' can be a little confusing because there are more than one certificate used in the SEP product.
For the Remote Console JAR certificate being expired, that certificate has been renewed in RU5.

The SSL certificate, which is different from the certificate used to sign the Remote Console JAR files, is generated when you install the product and is good for 10 years after you install. It can be replaced with a new, or 3rd party certificate without too much trouble.
