  • 1.  SEPM not downloading latest update from Symantec

    Posted May 19, 2015 09:49 PM

I am having a problem with my SEPM, it doesn't download the latest virus definition which may affect my clients soon, it's already 2 days late. What could be the cause?

    Thanks

What is the exact version here?

Please download and run the symhelp tool on it as well.

Download the Symantec Help (SymHelp) diagnostic tool to detect Symantec product issues

    Has anything changed recently?

No changes have been made since the last few days, but other clients get the latest updates and some are not. I don't know what could be the cause.

Some clients could be getting updates from external Symantec depending on how you have your policy set...hard to see the screenshot. What does it say in terms of errors for SEPM?

have you try update manually SEPm server through .JDB file ?

Download .jdb files to update definitions for Endpoint Protection Manager

The SymHelp message indicates that you are using GUPs. Perhaps you have to increase the size of the content folder on the GUP (the default size of 500 MB is just too small for current full definitions).

On SEPM, go to the LiveUpdate policy, then Server Settings > Group Update Provider > Maximum disk cache size

The value should be at least at 2000 MB.

If possible, try rebooting the SEPM server and launch luall.exe manually from run command.

    Cheers!!!

I will also say if possible reboot the machine or repair the SEPM.

Try to run luall manually, to run it manually go to Start --> Run --> (Type) luall.exe

    OR

Can try to update SEPM using .JDB file.

Download .jdb files to update definitions for Endpoint Protection
