This issue has been solved. See solution.

I had tried to install the SEPM patch (SEPServerPatch-v6.01.exe )for solving dec 31 2009 issue and I am getting the error "unable to apply SEP server patch on this computer" .I had followed the instructions of this doc Manually Applying the 2010 definitions patch to Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEP).But my SEPM still shows 2009 dec 31 dated definitions. If I check the registry entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Symantec\Symantec
Endpoint Protection\SEPM\PatchSequence ,it's value is 1 and my server content catalog is appearing as updated (revision is 2010-01-15 rev.943). What may be the problem?. My SEPM is MR4 and it's OS is windows 2003 64 bit.

SEPM Patch problem

Patches are version specific. When you try to install the MR3 patch on a different version SEPM, you can expect to see this error.

Please apply the version of the patch that matches the version of SEPM you run.

Manual Update of SEPM need patch

Hi Sandip_Sali

We are currently on version SEPM 11.4202.75 and I have downloaded the patch SEPServerPatch-v6.01.exe, however when I try and run this patch I get the following error : Unable to apply SEP Server patch on this Computer.

http://service1.symantec.com/support/ent-security.nsf/docid/2010010308571348

This weblink suggests this is the patch I need for 11.4202.75 so why the error?

Regards

Hi...

I am also facing the same problem.

There is a line "The following SEPM/SPC builds have been added to the patch:"

This means the patch which is available for download contains the fix for all listed version. But its not working in our setup. I have not found different patches for different version.

Try this  and see if that

Try this  and see if that works

Stop the SEPM service

Rremove the scm-server.jar

Change the name of the scm-server.jar.disabled to scm-server.jar

Start the SEPM service

Then run the patch again
