For about 5% of our clients, I cannot get them to display their group information or policy serial number. I am highly confused as to why they are acting up.
Hi,
Kindly Verify.
Do you have a green dot on the client ? Does it update the virus definitions ? On the client go to Help and Support - Troubleshooting: check if the client is reporting to server or does it say Self-managed or Offline,
Are the other clients updating with policy ?
Yes green dot,
It is managed and lists the address for the server that I have entered.
Virus defs update.
Other clients in the same group update policy fine. All clients report back to the server but are not reporting all policy numbers.
see attached
Kindly check policy Serial no are available in SEP client ?
delete the one SEP client from the console,
Go to SEP Client -> right click on client select update policy check if that populates the information in the console
.
Issue with the SEPM and the DB sync
Goto--> Start -->All programs-->SEPM-->Management server configuration wizard.
Run the Management Server configuration Wizard
It will reconfigure and sync the DB and SEPM hope it will reolve the issue
Please create a new group and moved the affected clients to the group.
Update the policy and issue would get resolved
Regards
I got Symantec Partner Support on the phone, as I was working on a side issue with them. Made a slight change to the communication settings which changed the policy number for the group, and the clients immediately took the change.
