Hi all,

Is it possible in SEPM 12.1.5 to create a report Filter based on the location on the computer ?

We have a lot of computers that are located in different countries all over the world, and we would like to have a filter based on the same "location" used for policies. Is it possible ?

You can filter by whichever group the PC is located in. There isn't an option specifically for 'Location' though.

Thank you for posting in Symantec community.

You can customize to Group base or Domain based if possible. But there ins't any specfic option to select location specific.

However you can construct custom filters by using the Basic Settings and Advanced Settings to change the information that you want to see. You can save your filter settings to the database so that you can generate the same view again in the future. When you save your settings, they are saved in the database. The name you give to the filter appears in the Use a saved filter list box for that type of logs and reports.

But we don't want to create a group for each location, as hundreds of our users are moving frequently from a location to another one ...

We have Groups for each Countries, and we seted "locations" based on the IP adress and subnet of each agency. LiveUpdate Policies are based on these locations.

We use only a Single GUP for each location, and cannot use Multiple or explicit GUP at this time, as all our SEP clients are not up to date ( seems that 40% of our clinets are still in SEP 11.0.6, and can only be updated by a single GUP )

I tried to make a customized filter based on the IP Address and Subnets of our counties/agencies ... But it's a huge work because we have a lot of different subnets :

- /22, /23 ,/24 for big agencies

- /25, /26 for a lot of small agencies

;-)

Unfortunately, location is not an option in the filtering.

Well, it should be ... ;-)
