SEPM says its updated but PCs are not
Hello - When i came in thsi morning i was greeted with tons of help tickets for out of date virus defs. I went to the SEPm and when i opening - discovered that the pop up window came up and told me at the last time Liveupdate downloaded virus defs was July 30, 2010. (which is not correct) I went to Liveupdate and updated the PC to OCtober 15, 2012. After waiting a afternoon- I then chose a random pc in the SEPM and looked at the properties on the PC. IT states that Current Virus Def date as 9/14/2012, BUT Current Download Protection Definitions date was October 15, 2012. If i click on the shield icon on the SEPM it states the October 15th date and everything is great. I am confused. what is the deal. I have attached screen shots of the different dates. How do i update all the pcs to the new virus defs?

Hello,
In the control panel, click the Liveupdate button and change log level from INFO to Debug and disable the "Close Liveupdate Session Automaticaly when session complete" setting.
Then run "luall" command in the Start/Run
Wait for finish and check for some errors, if there are copy here for reviewing if it says Successfully Completed then login to your Manager and check the dates after 5-10 minutes later in the Home Screen left below "Symantec's Latest Version" and "Manager Latest Version".
If everything goes correct then they might be same.

Hi,
Please check data/inbox/agentinfo folder for .dat and .err files.
If contains lots of .dat file then stop SEPM service Copy all the .dat to other location then delete .dat files from agentinfo folder then start the SEPM service.
and check .dat files starting created in folder.
If this issue on limited v=client then it possible that these clients defintion may be corrupted
