  • 1.  SEPM SBS has incorrect IP's in sylink.xml

We have a server that was in a test environment before being put into production.  Its the first time we've had the newest SEPM 12 and so we were testing things out with it.

Now thats its been in production we've come to find that it help onto those old IP addresses before being put into production with its correct and current IP address.  So when you look in the sylink.xml file it is giving to clients it has 3 bad entries and 2 good entries.  The clients are randomly trying to use those bad addresses and then failing to communicate and getting heartbeat errors.

I've tried replacing all the sylink.xml files I could find on the server, still didn't fix anything, and the moment I give a client a good one and reboot, it checks in with the server and retrieves a new sylink.xml with the bad addresses.

I need a way to reset what ever is holding the IP addresses for SEPM so it removes these, and then just gets the two valid IP addresses for the server, then pushes these new settings to the clients.

I've been running into walls left and right because the Small Business edition of this software has almost no controls or configuration abilities when I compare the screen shots people are showing me on how to fix problems for SEPM 11/12 non-small business edition.

If I have to, I'll just blow away the whole install and try again, though how would this affect the license files we already have for this current install?

    Regards,

    Jon

it would take all the IPs configured in your network card, you can clearout the other bad ip,and then run the repair from add/remove programs, that should clear out the IPs.

uninstall/reinstall will not affect the license.

or else u can install fresh SEPM the  use the tool to reconnect your clients
